The Community

The community to which this website refers is the community of believers who benefitted from Reformation Fellowship’s teaching for many years.

A Brief History

Reformation Fellowship had no paid staff. Until June 2016, the three regular teachers at Reformation Fellowship were faculty of Gutenberg College.

Both Reformation Fellowship and Gutenberg College had their roots in the same source: the ministry of McKenzie Study Center (MSC). In the early 1980s, a group of people started meeting for an informal Bible study that was loosely connected to MSC. That loose connection was attributable to two things: 1) the teachers of the Bible study were MSC teachers; and 2) the members of the Bible study were interested in and supportive of MSC. Through a series of adventures and misadventures, this growing group decided to start the church we knew as Reformation Fellowship, and an informal connection to MSC continued.

In 1994, MSC launched into the uncharted waters of starting a Christian great-books college called Gutenberg College. Eventually Gutenberg became the parent organization, with McKenzie Study Center (and Art Project) as institutes under the college. So, then, RF’s informal relationship with McKenzie Study Center changed into an informal relationship with Gutenberg College.

In March 2020, during the COVID pandemic, Reformation Fellowship ceased meeting in public. For many months, teachers taught via YouTube, and links to those recordings are on this website. Recordings (MP3s) of prior teaching can still be found on the Gutenberg College website.

In the fall of 2021, the decision was made to discontinue Reformation Fellowship. New groups have grown from its roots, and access to their teaching is on this site.
